When people call cars sexy, I don't think they're thinking the same thing I'm thinking. I love cars that have "faces", so to speak. So, when people drive by in a Toyota Camry or a Honda Accord and I say "Hey, that's a sexy car!" and people look at me all bewildered, it's because they're not getting the whole picture! You've gotta add the rest of the body--synthetic breasts and all. Might I need psychiatric help? Likely so.

This is my concept of an anthropomorphic, humanoid car. Her body is composed of materials on both the outside and inside of the car; her belly is leather seat material, the rest of her skin is tire rubber, and she is covered in non-removable metal plates (all except three, that is). There are a lot of features not seen here, like a tailpipe and turning signals, but I'll probably cover those in future submissions. What you see here is the basic design for all my anthro cars, though some have a few distinguishing features such as trunks, spare tires, and such that help differentiate them from other models.

In the canon of my universe, most Anthro Cars or Vehiculoids purchase a magical upgrade to their bodies called "Metaflex". It allows synthetic materials to adopt the flexibilities and sensations of actual flesh. There are three settings: Off, which will return the vehiculoid to a state of rigid metal and rudimentary sensations; Inward, the default which will allow the vehiculoid the feelings and flexibility of flesh, but will still feel like synthetic materials to others; and Outward, which gives the synthetic materials an almost skin-like feeling to those who touch them, making it possible for intimacy.

Since I could go on forever describing how Anthro Cars work in the context of Willy's universe, I'll save some informative tidbits for later pictures. For the sake of now, I'll resolve to call this car woman "Carma" until I think of something more clever.

Seems like a lot of other people have been getting the same impression. It's funny, though, because I haven't really played Halo before. =S

You have to play through it at least ONCE!!!

Halo 1, 2, and 3

Other series are optional

Or look up the story on wikipedia if you have to time or interest to play it lol

Cool explanation on your Metaflex thing. However if I might so ask why try to make everything have to "feel" human? Or like Flesh so to speak? What about feeling what is there that make each thing unique? You wanna think thoughts with a robot or metallic being hey that's cool. Why not think of to cool sleek feel of metal? Why not think of how smooth metal can be? Why always try to change things up to "fit" human commonalities? Why not find a like for each think that is unique in it's own way? Just wondering... You can think and feel about it how you want of course. But just wondering. Do you think it makes it any less "taboo" or "Not right" to others if you say it's "Like Flesh" or "Like a human so I'm not that weird" kinda thing? Or is it a personal thing and you can only think of it that way cause that is all you know? Again I'm just curious you could say.

It doesn't necessarily have to do with me having to make everything feel human. My fictional universe is inhabited by all sorts of odd sentient creatures; interspecies relationships are not uncommon. The company that created Metaflex is all about helping interspecies couples become more compatible, whether it is help them have children, remove language barriers, or accomplish other things that would otherwise be physically impossible. Because of the increasing population of sentient machines over the years, and consequently the growing amount of relationships between artificial and biological beings, the company decided to capitalize on this premise by offering a product that would cater to these relationships. Also, the product can be used for more than simply physical relationships; it can help certain metallic beings emote in every day conversations. Some vehiculoids use it specifically for that purpose, because some don't have any interest in physical relationships, nor do they have any built in sexual parts. Metaflex is for those metallic beings who want the certain benefits of having a more flexible exterior; whether that is to cater to their partner's needs, or simply help them communicate with others.

Oh gawsh, metal in small amounts destroy me when I attempt to colour them and yet you managed to do a whole character that has metallic material all over. Not to mention nice, smooth leather. H'oh jumpin' how'd you do it?
Tires for feet in this manner is quite creative by the way.

Thankfully I liked my initial coloring tests with the metal, so I just continued to follow that same pattern throughout every plate on the body; a pattern I'm sure you noticed. Thanks--especially for the comment on the feet; you'd think it to be such an insignificant feature, but I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how I'd balance her car attributes with a more humanoid form.

Haha, you give me too much credit.

Feet are totally important. We just forget about it because we take it for granted. But I really like the creativity behind them.

my friend who doesn't have an account wants to ask "how would you feel if someone wanted to get an R18+ commission that included one of your characters like this one?"

Does your friend mean as if the person wanted me to draw it or someone else to? I won't draw anything pornographic, and I certainly wouldn't want somebody else using my anthropomorphic car design in something of that nature either. I don't have issues with tasteful nudity, however--but even then I'd feel weird about it being one of my characters.

he wanted to get someone else to draw something of that nature because he enjoys the design of your characters (and importantly this one) immensely- I mean, its only natural that something like this will pop up if you make the images so thought provoking- even if they are tasteful. He really likes your art and would like to see something intimate.

-
on a side note he is wondering if you considered this tasteful?

You know, I've been thinking all day about a way to answer this and still simply have no idea. What I fear is that if I continue to say no, your friend will simply employ the artist to make a derivative of my character and simply bypass crediting me at all. This raises the issue of me not wanting my name or character connected to such an image, but still wanting credit for my design. So, I really don't have any good alternative and I'm not happy about it.

I'll try and talk him out of it. But I think he might just employ an artist to draw it for his eyes only and not post it online.

Well, since I have the strangest feeling you're not going to be successful in stopping him, could you please let your friend know that I would appreciate the courtesy of a copy of the picture so I can at least know how my character was violated.

he said he won't commission anything pornographic since you feel so strongly about it. But he (and myself) is wondering why you feel so strongly about the characters you draw?

I mean- a fictional character is a fictional character? I don't make butt-hurt if people dis my favorite Kamen Riders by showing them being decapitated by their favorite character. And I do not care if someone would draw my character Kry being shoved head-first into a pile of shit or being raped even, why? Cause its fiction? Even though he is my character I don't feel violated?

I appreciate that your friend honored my request, and I really am quite flattered that he appreciates my work on that level. While I'm aware that my character is just a fictional creation, I have a plethora of reasons as to why I don't want pornography drawn of her. I really hope you can just understand that those reasons are important to me and just leave it at that. I'm sure there are plenty of other artists on DA who would share my sentiments on similar work being drawn of their characters.

Yep. I'm afraid, as it stands, the reference to her car...-ness is a little too obvious. I guess I'll manage to think of something a tad more subtle eventually; that, or I can say that the name is self appointed because she thought it made her sound cool. Dunno.

I didn't base her off of any specific model of car, actually; that way I had more options of what I could do with the face. That, and I wouldn't have to credit some auto company. Har...

I did take a look at that 1970 Dodge Challenger. Looks like a very sexy car... and I mean that in the way it should be meant.
